Texas Log Cabin

This was a very rewarding home to work on because it is Jenny’s parents home.  It took Jenny 10+ years to convince her parents to move to the DFW area and when her parents finally moved, it was pure bliss getting to help them remodel their new home.  Starting with the exterior, we stained all of the railing on their porches, which is not a complete wrap-around porch but does cover about 75% of the home.  Jenny’s father is an excellent welder; he built a pipe fence and then we hung the wiring.  We painted the garage doors, and put a new window on the side porch connecting to the living room where there was an awkward door.  Inside we installed new wood floors in every room except for the bedrooms. We laid new backsplash tile in the kitchen, and lightened all the walls throughout the home by painting them a neutral white. In one of the bathrooms we installed new flooring and subway tile for the bath surround. For the master bathroom, Ryan built a custom sliding door. Not only did we enjoy this project, we really appreciate getting to spend time in this cozy home on a regular basis!
