A Cozy Update in Gray
We had the pleasure of working on this local home for friends before the holidays! Their goal was to do “part 1” of their update and get it complete before Thanksgiving so that they could relax and have their house organized when their kids arrived home from college. The second update will be done later on down the road, maybe when they are ready to sell the house. We remodeled the kitchen and both bathrooms, along with some other minor things throughout the home (such as painting, and repair work to tile and trim).
In the kitchen, we installed subway backsplash, painted the walls and ceiling, put in a new sink and faucet, and helped coordinate the new countertops. They had a bar countertop that opened up to the living area and they didn’t love it because they felt like it was wasted space. So we took out the bar top and made all of the kitchen countertops counter-height and then the beautiful quartz countertops were installed. It really opened up the space!
In the master bath, we completely remodeled the shower; we expanded the shower and hung subway tile vertically on the walls with 2 x 2 square tile on the shower floor. We painted the vanities and installed new hardware, put new flooring in (12 x 24 tile), installed new faucets to the shower, bath tub, and sinks, and sprayed the bath tub a pristine white for a clean and updated look. Gorgeous! In the second bathroom, we simply put new floors in and resurfaced the tub and it was an inexpensive way to update a small space.
